Overview

The PSA actuator offers one of the highest power densities available in an electric gear motor system. The unique design is useful in applications where high performance is required, torque and weight and / or space is at a premium. The PSA actuator offers three different reductions: 3:1, 5:1, 10:1.

To achieve this high performance in a compact and rigid package, the front motor bearing has been tucked into the planet carrier, while the rear motor bearing has been tucked into the motor armature. The planet carrier and output shaft is manufactured from a single piece of stainless steel and operates with a pair of oversized ball bearings. This assures long-life in the most demanding applications. The fully supported double-sided design assures rigidity  and high-side load capacity.

The planet gears use precision caged needle roller bearings with a rigid shaft forming the inner race, and a planet gear forming the outer race. This minimizes run-out and bearing-play, which means your PSA actuator will maintain its backlash specification.

PSA flanges are designed to be dimensionally interchangeable with many of  the metric gearheads offered by leading gear-head manufacturers. So you can retrofit existing equipment easily and avoid the sole source risks of many other gearhead designs.
